In the introductory post, I outlined a brief reflection on the relationship between theology and art. Today’s post is the first entry in our 8-week series looking at artistic depictions of events in the life of Christ, and we’re going to focus on the Nativity of Christ.
Before We Begin:
Before you click on the audio description of the pieces of art, do the following:
Read Luke 2:1-20 in your preferred Bible translation, and then take a minute to reflect on the following questions:
What is this passage about?
Who is in this scene?
What happens immediately before this passage? What comes immediately after this passage?
What stands out to you in this passage?
Look at each of the following two images, one at a time
For each image, consider the following questions:
What is this image of?
What stands out to you?
What do you wonder about in the picture?
After you have done the above steps for each picture, go ahead and click on the audio description.
